OUR HOUSE

HEMERETZI means passion, devotion and pampering. Our restaurant reflects the deep-seated traditions of this city with the sea and fishing in every dish.

We specialise in octopus, seafood and fresh fish, and have a tank with a wide range of fish that are cooked to order, where you will be able to try the part that most appeals to you. Another important aspect of our restaurant is the show cooking, where our chefs prepare dishes in view of diners.

All dishes are prepared using top quality products and carefully arranged and served on plates. Our menu also offers dishes typical of the area, such as Ama Olga’s octopus with fried onions, grooved carpet shell clam in marinara sauce, char-grilled sirloin steak…

In keeping with tradition, we also offer a great variety of pintxos such as skewer of tuna in sweet sauce, hake cubes with tartar sauce, cod tripe…

We at Hemeretzi also offer a wide variety of wines that match perfectly with all our dishes.

This gastrobar, which is characterised by its brightness and elegant brass details, is located in the heart of the Gipuzkoa capital at calle 31 de agosto in the Old Part.

CHEFS

Paula Saldanha

Of Portuguese origin, Paula Saldanha always felt a great passion for gastronomy.  It was precisely this fondness for cooking that brought her to San Sebastián, where she started to pursue her career. She has been in charge at the Nagusia Lau restaurant for a decade, where she works alongside Pablo Soto.

Pablo Soto

Pablo Soto is a chef with a proven track record and a great interest in signature cuisine. He studied in his native Galicia, where he was chef at different restaurants. He worked for a while in Tenerife and then returned to the mainland, where he got the chance to work with two of the most renown chefs: Paco Torreblanca and Ferrán Adriá.

After a period at El Tragabuches, Soto returned to Tenerife to take over the gastro restaurant at the Hotel Bahía del Duque, before settling in San Sebastián – first, at the helm of Nagusia Lau, which became Beti Jai Berria, and now also at Hemeretzi and 1813.

WHAT ARE THE CREW MEMBERS SAYING?
